About Us:
Names: 1.) Sponge Dot Squarepants 2.) Bef-O-Matic Location: Tallahassee, FL Description: We are morons. That's all you need to know. |
To all you old DCMP viewers, THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT!! To you new DCMP viewers, this is simply the skeletal remains of an old satire site. Don't let the title decieve you. We were not punks, we still are not punks, but gosh darn it, we loved to make fun of them! (And everyone else for that matter). So feel free to look through the remains of what was once a somewhat booming site, and now is just a loving memory. (04.27.04) The Old Me vs. The Older Me -- I've noticed that I've recieved some "new" guestbook entries (and ones from people who obviously had no clue what message I was trying to convay). This website was compiled by myself and a friend when I was in the junior year of high school. I was living in a small town that you'd miss if you blinked while driving through it. My life was miserable, and I was depressed. It's strange looking through this and realizing how much anger and frustration I've released through the very HTML coding of this website. It's amazing to think how much attention Beth and I recieved from this site, how many other teenagers out there that were just as angry and frustrated as we were with things like MTV, the general media, growing up, etc. If I were to re-build this website, it would not be so angry. Infact it would be pretty bare. Now that I've come to terms with my psychology, my life, my family, and everything else that upset me, I'm no longer angry. I worry about the future generations, and what psychologial suffering they will have to go through. Sometimes I would worry if someone I knew would see this site, because I'd feel ashamed of what I've written. Now, I'm no longer ashamed. I still encourage everyone to not let television and the media pressure you into worshiping vain celebrities, dressing like you don't have a bit of pride in who you are, or be driven to lie in a bed of sex, drugs, and rock n' roll. We were trying to be different, we were trying to seek out who we were. In the end, we're not that different from the rest of the world other than the standards that we lived. I believe that alone helped me be a more stable college student, employee, artist, whatever. You don't have to shop at Hot Topic to stand out. You don't have to listen to the latest metal bands to vent/feed your anger. As good ol Metallica stated: "Forever trust in who you are, and nothing else matters." Dottie (05.30.03) The OTHER Side of Socialburn! I found this old image buried in my drive... had to share it! (05.28.03) A.D. News Has Been Updated!! FINALLY! -- That's all I wanted to say.... (04.16.03) DUDE THIS IS FUNNY! -- Okay, since I can't go to the Onion at work anymore (they're riding the porno pony now, so I could get fired for viewing it... poo!) I went to Modern Humorist instead. They have a new division called "Sad Week" (a parody of News Week) and I should probably not even bother with my site cuz this was so great! So go to this link and listen to the mp3's. Why? BECAUSE I SAID SO! (4.11.03) What's the Word Turd? -- Okay here's what's going on in the life of Sponge Dot! Spring semester is almost over. I am passing my Drawing II class with flying colors (WAI WAI WAI!!!). I am NOT taking classes during the summer; leaving room for TWO BIG PROJECTS that are on the horizon! One is a comic book, the other is a children's book. As for adnews, I have no clue what I'm going to do. My writers suck (hint hint) so I'm left marooned in a sea of smelly poo. So sorry to let anyone down, just no time, and a bunch of bad ideas. I watched Socialburn's (here we refer to them as "shitty band") interview with Elektra records. I must say, Dusty looks like an anarexic girl, Brandon looks like... a girl... with long hair, Neil REALLY needs to do something with his hair! It's making his face look fat! And Chris just seems to sit there and play with his girlish hair. And why did the interviewers refer to Blountstown as Blountsville??? Common guys! You gotta represent ya know? Put on some weight, cut your hair, wear flannel shirts, blue jeans, John Deere hats, spit some tobacco, etc. The next person to send a horribly composed e-mail saying we're jealous of pop stars get a cookie! (4.3.03) The Worst Mistake of their Lives! -- Or maybe not... Emotion Eric has updated his website. And with what you ask? An adventure featuring the Chapman Brothers of Homestarrunner.com! Sad thing is, THEY'RE VERY VERY VERY good a lookin', and now that a majority of H*R fans know what city they live in, and how they look (thanks to Erics adventure) I'm sure they'll have many stalkers. If you guys knew the people I've run into while walking around in my Homestar shirt you'd be scared for them too! Also in other DCMP news, we have a new fan, Brian. He has been e-mailing us repeatedly with messages of love and praise (not to mention questionably corrupt files which were deleted very quickly). We thank you for your support! (03.25.03) Yeah I've Been Falling Asleep On the Job I Just Started... -- My writers are slacking on the job, I'm busy looking for a new real world job, and I don't have enough substance for a full update. I got a couple articals under my skin, but that's it. I'm saving it all up for April, so don't fret. It may be small... but yeah. Am I the only one who was a little freaked out by Beth's last guestbook entry? (02.12.03) A.D. News is Up and Running! -- That's all I wanted to say... (02.10.03) Hate Mail Hate -- Okay to those of you who look up and down on this website and decide to send me hate mail, please make it something worth reading! Not this "u r stupit" crap! (02.04.03) Dot's New Web-a-site! -- The new web project is up, but not fully running yet. The URL is http://www.spiffygeek.com/adnews. We have the articals for this month finished and most of the site is uploaded. Later this week it will be finished and ready to go! Bookmark and check back later. (01.31.03) Updated Faster Than Even I Expected! -- Thanks to a lovely hate mail in the guestbook that is now posted in the hate mail section. Sheesh you people take things too seriously! (01.30.03) Wanna See Something Scary? -- Click here then... (01.23.03) Mo... Will You Marry Me? -- To all you girlies who watched those dreamy Daily Show correspondants with hearts in your eyes and drawing of lavish weddings and lots of kids (you know what I mean *wink wink*), this bud's for you! (01.07.02) GEKI GENGAR 3!!! -- Okay, I guess no-updates was a big lie. I can't pass up the opportunity to post new hate mail as I recieve it, and I just recieved a very polite one from someone who insited Bef and I were being "racist" with our Lady Marmelade punk-o-week. Yippie! Oh BTW, this week's Strong Bad E-Mail rocked!! So even if you aren't a fan of homstarrunner.com, you have to see this one! (01.02.02) I Know, I Lied. -- I swore up and down I wasn't going to do an update, but this was too funny (and too true) to pass up: Five Questions That Will Dictate Your Personality for the Rest of Your Life. (12.11.02) No More Updates! -- Howdy thar! This is just to inform everyone that this site will no longer be updated!!!! "WHY DOT!? OH WHY!?" You squeel? I am busy persuing other projects (including another website) and can no longer worry myself about entertaining the public with this piece of... old stuff. Everything will still function, so if you're new to this, feel free to paruse around. All you DCMP geezers... well sorry. Hugs not drugs! -Dot (12.02.02) New Years Plans -- Hey peoples! Well New Years for me is starting to seem a little lonely, so I thought of an idea... DISNEY! I'm considering spending my new years at Disney World but I don't wanna go alone! So if you wanna go with me, e-mail me and we can arrange things! Or if you have another idea let me know. I don't want to spend this year playing Lunar all night by myself. (11.26.02) Happy Thanksgiving! -- Now... VOTE ON THE ALTERNATE DIMESNION! (11.12.02) I hate Florida winters! -- I have no idea why the snow birds flock here during the winter time because Florida winters are the worse! It's almost like living in Seattle, cold and wet. Bah! And still no sign of Spirited Away. I'm going to see Harry Potter this weekend, hope it's good. I saw the Master of Disguise yesterday. Had the potential of being a good movie, but... it wasn't. I think Dana Carvey lost some of his touch after SNL. (11.05.02) Morons... I'm surrounded by MORONS! -- Today I decided to check out the polls and my guestbook and run across a lovely entry about how "i'm tired of the bland i'm punk crap". I don't expect everyone to like what is on this site, but common!!! Oh yes, I am punk, I like Blink 182, the Sex Pistols, Anarchy in the UK man! Yeah, I'm punk. Blech. So to all of you peoples out there, Dot is not a punk, never has been one, and never will be. What is Dot? Dot is um... uh... hmmm... spiffy. I think? (10.30.02) Popular Opinion -- Okay, here's what the news parody project is, News from an Alternate Dimension. And in time for Nov. 5th I have a poll set up for people to vote on how the alternate dimension will turn out. So please go and vote! Yeah... cuz... it matters... you know? Vote here! (10.28.02) Where's Strong Bad? -- I'm in suspence... NO NEW STRONGBAD E-MAIL!!!!!!!! I guess it's right when he said "Too much of a good thing is awesome. Too much of an awesome thing is really dumb... and stupid..." BTW, I have some people in line for the news thingy, but I still need more!!!! Common, who doesn't love Juicy Fruits and pats on the back? I know you do! FYI: I HAVE BAD SPELLING! Thank you. (10.22.02) Calling All Writers and Political Junkies -- I have an idea for a news parody website that I would like to create, but it's not something I can do alone. I need people who are interested in politics and creative writers. You will be paid in boxes of Juicy Fruits and pats on the back for each job well done. If you're interested please contact me. Oh and if you have to ask, Christina Aqularia is, in fact, very dirrrty and should take a bath. She reeks as much as the poopsmith, and that's not saying very much now is it? (10.06.02) Saddam Who's-Insane and Uncle Sama -- Gotta love family right? Osama (or Uncle Sama as I call him) is reported as being dead, or alive. Also Saddam has reportedly won another 7 year term as the commi-facist-nazi leader man of Iraq. His runner-ups... oh wait, HE DIDN'T HAVE ANY!! But he got 100% of the votes... but also considering that the voters had to put their names on the ballots, I can see why he would! Saddam: "Vote for me! Or I'll kill you!!! Hahahaha! America Sux!" Amazing what these journalists come up with. ![]() Look at Strongbad go! Go Strongbad Go! (10.11.02) - Bored and Brainstorming -- Okay, Orlando is out of the picture, simply because I'm way too broke to go (and I just caught word from my super duper friend Reed that it's playing in Tallahassee on the 18th!). I'm going canoeing with my boyfriend instead. Today was spent making a list of things I want to accomplish sometime in the future. I don't care if you want to see them or not cuz you're gonna see them anyways!
Now don't you feel much better? I think you do! Yeah it's short, but oh well. Now go watch Spirited Away or I'll wack you with the smelly sock of doom! (10.09.02) - Oatmeal Cream Pies -- Bad news... I'm at work, I'm bored, and I'm eating oatmeal cream pies... BAD combination. (10.04.02) - The Result of Boredom -- I was bored at work and came up with the following image: ![]() Now I know you're wondering, "What did they ever do to you?" My reply? They did something that pissed me off along time ago, but I've forgotten it now. I just like to have fun with them because they're such big rock stars and all. I just found it hilarious when I surfed their site to find their new photos which featured their new look. Which their new look is basicly cloning that of existing bands that are mainstream. Common! Get original! (10.03.02) - Fixed Stuff... -- Fixed the punk o week/links problem. It's all dandy now. I just need to PUT STUFF in the punk o week page to justify its existance. Also fixed a few bugs like broken pics/links etc. I'm good. --- Socialburn has gone EMO?! Brandon looks like he's the next Jim Morrison or something... hahahahahahahahAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! "Click thumbnails to view larger image" eh?! Click what?! THERE'S NOTHING TO CLICK! If you want to look like a professional band, make a professional webpage! --- Yes again, I update. My site has had so many hits today I'm about to fall over! Oh wait... they're all of me refreshing the pages and checking for mistakes and crap... poo. So here's what I did: Filled in the blank Punk-O-Week page, fixed the links to redirect to the pweek menu/main site, fixed old links that are long gone/changed, tweeked some REALLY bad HTML coding, and that's about... it... (09.30.02) - Pardon My Dust -- Unfortunately, as I tried to update the punk of the week portion of this site I saved over my links page. I still have a copy of it that works. Eventually I will fix that and getting it right. Good news, Spirited Away is showing in Orlando on October 11th. I'M GOING!!!! HAAAAAA!!!! So when I come back I'll have a nice review of the film and let you know if it's worth the trip (and I'm extremely sure it is! :-) (9.20.02) - Sweet Bliss! -- I purchased the Japanese version of Miyazaki's Kiki's Delivery Service yesterday, AND I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!! Also Spritited Away (aka: Sen No Chiro) is out today... but not in Florida!!??! That sucks. But according to a cashier at Cosmic Cat, the Gov. Square theater has the trailer to the movie, but that's it. POO! (9.18.02) - China Is Changing...a lot! -- This artical pretty much illustrates how slack China has become up until the congress comes to town. Interesting stuff. Who knows, soon they might become a semi-democracy! Or even worse, FREE SPEECH! Probably not, but oh well. (9.16.02) - WATCH OUT JAPAN! -- I'm starting to save up some money for college, and plan to go to Japan for either (a) go there for a few weeks, or (b) take up a study abroad program at whatever college I'm at. So if anyone out there who's been to Japan and knows how much I'll need/where to go, please tell me so!!! I have a link to my e-mail somewhere... I hate publishing it on my site, too many dang spammers out there... bah! (08.25.02) - Radio Rookies -- I was surfing around on NPR and ran across an article about "Radio Rookies". I clicked the link and found an archive of radio spots by New York teens on certain issues that affected their lives. I found this program to be a really valuable tool for them, and something that I would have loved to taken part in if I was still in high school. Hopefully more communities will look at WNYC's example and help jump start student's opportunities in media and radio broadcasting. (08.33.02) - Who's a Virgin? -- Well lil' miss Britney Spears is obviously trying to make herself look good despite everything that's going on. Trying to ignore her old image and the scoffing she's recieved for no longer setting a good example to those who look up to her. She claims she's oh so "grown up" and has "lost her innocence". Well DUH! But common! This article made me barf. (08.22.02) - Lord Of The Earrings -- My friends in Bristol/Hosford are making their own home video parody of Lord of the Rings. Here's a website Keifers made for it. (08.05.02) - Blogger? -- I've had many many people ask me where my blog is at... well it's gone! For personal reasons I have decided to take it down. James apparently is working on his, and Beth... well she still rarely updates, but oh well. Life is good! Or at least it would be if I had the Alice DJ cd I've been craving to listen to for the past week! If you wanna help Dot and her poor broke butt, please send her an Alice DJ cd! She'll love you forever! Or maybe not. I'm working on getting the punk of the week going, but since I'm doing this at work (shhh. don't tell!) it'll take some time. Love you guys! Or maybe not... whatever :) (7.10.01) - Finally -- I got around to updating with the Melvins' review. Not much there since I took too long to get around doing it... blah! (06.27.02) - My Bad Yo -- James took the time to remind me about something... for that thingy you wrote about the melvins, the singer we were betting on was from the opening band. king buzzo(melvins singer/guitarist) is far too gone to need to do any drugs. he has an afro and wears a dress. need i say more? i should find that interview he gave not long ago... hold on.... hell i cant find it. its all your fault. (06.26.02) - Dot Actually Did Something!! -- Actually all I did was set up the link to the links section... and I only have one new link so far. I'm going to have to compile my list of bands I like so I can have links to them and all that jazz. Don't fret punk-kateers, I'm getting internet connection to my apartmento del crap soon so be on the look-out! Or just come by next year, I'm sure SOMETHING will be updated by then... *grin* Oh yeah and I have a new review for the last IMooner show I went to (months ago)... bad bad reviews! IMooner was good, that was to be expected, but just wait! An emo band and a Staind/Godsmack wannabe band... bad reviews!!! bad bad bad!!! Oh, and I saw the Melvins at the Cow Haus with James... wonder if I should throw that review in... hehe. We were placing bets to see how long it'd take before the lead singer passed out from a drug od. (04.29.02) - Socialburn Releases New Video Game! -- The Tallahassee, FL band, Socialburn, with the famous game company, Capcom (know for the bajillion Street Fighter games), has released a brand spanking NEW video game this Monday. The game is similar to Street Fighter and allows you to duke it out as one of the band's members: Neil, Chris, Dusty, or Brandon. There are special "bonus" levels where you run around killing groupies, or chug as many beers as possible. There's even special "hidden" games that differ with each band memeber (example: You make Neil sing and compose your own bad rock songs!) So far the game has recieved many good reviews, and has been making a kill at the software stores! Don't worry if you can't find your copy today. Tomorrow I'm sure there will be plenty of used copies to purchase! ![]() |
