| Fales Road has risen from the ashes of previous projects that Roman Dufrene has been involved in. Originally Roman was a drummer, but decided that his drumming ability was lackig and that he really wanted to play guitar. His best friend, Jack Maddex, also had a dream of playing guitar (to get girls of course!) Roman and Jack began to jam together, learning how to play and intertwine musical composition. Jack's cousin John played bass, and they decided to add him to their jam sessions. This went on for at least six months before they added Spencer Carlson. After Spencer joined the band, Roman and Jack began to have some slight tension. Roman wanted to change the sound, and take a more authoritive role, whereas Jack wanted to keep the raw punk style, and leave things democratically. John sided with Jack, and Spencer didn't care. Fights began to break out at practice and soon, the band was more of a chore than fun. Early in the school year, when John suddenly quit, Roman brought Bryan Knowles into the band, despite the fact that he didn't really know him well, and the previous year, Roman had hated Bryan vehemently. With Bryan playing bass, the band took a direction that was better to Roman, but Jack detested. Despite making a promise to Roman that John wouldn't be let back in the band, Jack reinstated him after a short 2-3 week span. Roman was furious about the actions of Jack, since he was in complete disagreement with Jack and John, who both wanted to fire Bryan. Bryan was moved to keyboards, as John jumped back on bass. Now the band was having internal struggles, since Roman wanted a more textured, smooth sound, whereas Jack wanted a raw punk sound. Since Roman had advanced in guitar slightly faster than Jack, he began to take over musical direction of the band. Jack was fine with that as long as he could sing, though Roman was trying to vie for himself or Bryan to be the lead singer. Finally, tensions escalated to the point where Roman and Bryan decided to leave the band, Spencer came with them, though he remains jamming with Jack and John occasionally. A few weeks after the breakup, Roman regrouped from the loss of Jack as his best friend, and began to rebuild a band. Bryan helped with musical direction and Fales Road had been born. Currently Fales Road continues to work on rhythmically staying together, as well as adapting songs Bryan and Roman have written. More personal bios will be added at a later date. |
