| Ok... I admit it. I'm addicted to Ty Beanies! | |||||
| I am a 15-year-old freshman at Hillsboro High School. I first decided that I wanted to become a writer in 5th grade, when I started a small class newspaper. I continued that newspaper through 6th grade. That summer (2002), I began writing a regular column called "Don't Ask Why" for the Hillsboro Free Press, a weekly, local newspaper. By the end of the summer, I am told, I was a hit. My editor at the Free Press wanted me to continue my columns through the next school year, and I didn't think twice about saying "yes." My columns then began appearing monthly in the Hillsboro Free Press Extra, a small subscription newspaper. They also ran once a month in the Free Press. My third anniversary writing at the Free Press is coming up, and the number of columns I've written is reaching up to 200! In addition to writing, I also collect Beanie Babies (you can see my Peace bear Web site at www.geocities.com/peace_mania2004), play trombone and sing, paint (www.geocities.com/beanie_paintings) and design Web sites. < Back |
