We are a strong Christian family dedicated to raising Kira and Elijah in a loving, nurturing environment.   We are not considered "mainstream" as we do many things unconventionally from modern day America, such as  attachment parenting, cloth diapering, homeschooling, homebirthing, etc.   These areas are what we feel convicted in our hearts to do, and as we get to know the Lord more personally, it just seems the right way to go.  Not that we consider  we are more correct in how we do things...not by far!!  This is simply where we are in our faith journey  and obviously everyone has different convictions depending on the Holy Spirit's guidance :)
You can read  a bit about what everyone is up to in our family and if you would like to see pictures or read more about individuals, just click on the names!  Enjoy! God bless you and yours! Oh! And for those yet unaware,  we are expecting a new blessing at the end of May, ultrasound reveals it is a girl :)  Kira prayed for a sister so she is very excited!!!  As are all of us!!
Don
still works full time as an investment consultant at Segal Advisors. He got his CFA certification 2 years ago after passing 3 annual grueling tests over 4 years.  He travels a lot, mostly day trips, but there are the few overnight(s) he has to go to also.  His leisure time is filled with of course, kids ;-), but he also enjoys watching sports (especially football...go Bucks!) and doing outdoorsy activities such as camping and hiking.
Lori
is at the same clinic she started at out of vet school, North Ridge Veterinary hospital, 4 some years ago.  She has been there part-time still,  only working Saturdays and filling in when needed.  She also works at the county humane society one morning a week doing neuters and spays on dogs and cats. As this pregnancy winds down, she has been getting more tired so she has went on maternity leave.
She enjoys being with the children at home and doing activities with them from day to day.  She, too, loves to camp, hike, etc and cannot wait for summer to take all 3 children on a camping trip!  She takes the kids to the Children's museum at least twice a month as they both enjoy pretending and role playing so much.
Kira
is 4 1/2 years old and will be turning 5 on August 7.  She is a very sweet girl with a gentle disposition and an emerging, dynamic nature! She loves talking to complete strangers on the phone and they are amazed at her verbalness (is that a word?).   Who would have thought that this is the same girl who only a couple years ago would cower behind me if someone spoke to her, cry if she wasn't near mommy, and not really talk until over 2?   She does not attend preschool and yet she has no problems with so called "socialization".  She gets along SO well with kids of all ages, boy or girl.  She adores her brother and tries to teach him the "ropes".  She can get bossy at times but so can we all ;-)  She enjoys storytime at the library and has just started going to "Children's Morning out" at our YMCA 2 mornings a week.  Lori  thought she needed a "break" from Elijah's constant sassiness and it gives her a chance to interact with other children.  She does as good, if not better than her "preschooled" counterparts!!
Makes mom proud :)
She STILL loves reading  and enjoys manipulative type  games and toys.  She also is doing well in Sunday school and enjoys listening to God's Word and singing praise and worship songs to Him :)
Elijah
is our silly, charming 2 year old!!  He just turned 2 April 14th!  He was born at home and if you want, his birth story can be read by clicking on his name and then following the link to his story.  He is great little boy and his favorite thing is to follow Kira around and do EVERYTHING she is doing.  He has more of a "temper" than Kira but still not horrible by any means!  Like his sister was at age 2,  he doesn't talk much at ...does have a vocabulary which for the most part, only we understand :)  His favorite word is "Jee-jee" for Jesus....as he points upward to heaven when he says it :)  He also says "Ra-Ra" for Kira and "ya-ya" for Elijah.  He adores his hot wheel cars and construction vehicles.  He also loves books and will sit for many of the more comlicated stories that get read to his sister.  He also enjoys storytime at the library and drawing on paper with markers.  He likes sorting things by color and loves animals of any type...his favorite being pigs, ducks and horses.
