Artificial Intelligence, in a nutshell, is an attempt to "teach" a computer system the rules which a human uses to perform a task, and thereafter expect the computer to do the task.
My major effort in this domain, to date, has been to develop the algorithms to allow INTEL-based PCs to conjugate Latin verbs, and decline Latin nouns. The end result of this research has been a set of Drill routines.
Students can bring a diskette with the Latin words of their choice. (Two cases and the gender for nouns - the principle parts for verbs. These should be the only forms I need to produce all forms of the nouns/verbs. And therefore, these are the only forms that the Drill routines need.) The Latin Drill Routines also include an ability to demonstrate - to actually show the steps taken to produce the forms. During the 1990's, these Latin Drill Routines were available for student use in some of the IUP computer labs.
