There is certain nostalgia that one gets with taking pics with black and white film. These are black and white photos that I took at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee during the fall semesters of 1994 and 1996. I had to learn to develop the film and prints myself while using a manual 35mm camera. The camera used was a Minolta Maxxum 3xi with autofocus and manual settings.
This is a view while I was on there riverboat from where the captain sits. At the time this was taken, the captain was letting children have a turn at turning the steering the ship and he was nice enough to let me take some pics from where he sat giving you a view of what he sees when he steers the ship.
The is a picture of a steamboat docked in the Red River.
This is another view from where the captain sits. This view shows the wheel plus some of the gauges that the captain uses.
This was taken during an annual Cherokee memorial held in Hopkinsville, Kentucky (about 45-50 minutes away north of Clarksville) at the Trial of Tears Memorial Park.
Tis is a frontal view of a large train bridge that runs across the Red River.
This is a photo of the old train depot aroud Clarksville. This building has been restored and is now used as a museum.
This is a standard picture of tree overlooking the Red River.
This is picture of a memorial bell put up to honor soldiers of World Wars I & II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War.
This is a front view of a factory in Clarksville. I believe that was a plant that Conwood tobacco used to produce tobacco products. I don not know if it still around or not, but I thought the plant with the water towers behind them created a nice nostalgic feel.
This is the back view of the Conwood tobacco plant showing the tracks and storage tanks.
This is a pic of another former classmate that I took when my painting class was having pics made for doing self portraits. I thought this was a cool foreshortened view.
