These are all projects taken from different classes while attending the University of Tennessee at Martin. The majority of these where done mainly on Mac, using Adobe Photoshop with some being done with Adobe Illustrator. Some were done on PC using Arc Soft II Photo Studio and digital photograghy. The digital camera used during these projects was a Sony Mavica 75.
These were taken around where my grandmother lives. In this piece, I wanted to show different cultural icons revolving around the American farmer.
In this piece, titled "Family Hauntings", I used pics from the internet. I used the copy and paste method in piecing this together. The center figure represents a mother in mourning over her daughters, represented here by "ghost images" I do not mean to break any laws concerning copyright infringemments, this piece was used to show TECHNIQUE more than anything else.
In this, I used a figure of Christ from Mathias Grunewald's "The Ascension", and a picture of the earth taken from outer space (taken from the internet). My assignment was to render the figure to where you could not recognize it. I put the figure in front of the earth to represent the heavens and earth.
MY assignment on this one was to take a picture of an object and focus in on a specific area of it and enlarge it to where that was all that you saw.
In this one, I used different pieces of furniture from both my grandparents' houses to represent a page from a catalog. In the upper left, a shelf unit from a pie safe with old pieces of crysal among other items from my grandmother's. In upper middle, a trunk type chair from my grandfather's (the seat raises up). In the upper right, a marble-topped dresser with old clock with other tidbits. In the lower left, standard chairs and small chest of drawers with other tibdbits. In lower right,  standard table top with traditional style lamp and other tidbits.
This is a piece where I was to show something funny. The story behind this one was when our cat was younger, she was always wanting someone to play with. Whenever my dad brought our dog in to eat, the cat would chase him around (or for that matter, try to jump on his back). Although the cat has outgrown it, every once in a while, she will occassionally chase the dog around or try to paw at him.
The is a piece showing different pieces of technology. In the majority of this, I used the backs stereo equipment, coomputers, and other items.
This is a poster that designed top advertise my student art exhibition at The Universtity of Tennessee at Martin in February 2003.
