(12/2002 – Present) Sykes Asia Inc. - Database Administrator / Application Deveeloper – supervises/manages 2 teams, Database Team and Helpdesk Support Team. (5 people)

 

§          Responsible for administration, monitoring, performance tuning, backup and recovery, log shipping, upgrade, security, and management of 9 online production servers comprising of approximately 100+ databases using MSSQL Server 7/2000 on WinNT4/2K platforms.

§          Used Query Analyzer to execute most of SQL commands including process management, monitoring, optimization, maintenance, security management, backup/restoration/recovery, used Profiler for filtering and tracking SQL statements and server activities, index management, etc.

§          Provides data extracts to clients for corporate reporting and analysis purposes.

§          DTS, ETL, database scripting using TSQL for ETL process.

§          Data warehousing (Analysis Services) – analysis, cubes, online reporting

§          Responsible for administration, maintenance, setup of database servers. MS SQL Server, Oracle 8/8i under WinNT and Unix platform. Designed and planned table structures, write stored procedures, triggers, and scripts in MS SQL, and Oracle.

§          Performs administrative tasks including backup, recovery, load analysis of web and database servers.

§          Configured Oracle8i running on Intel Solaris 7 with mod_perl, DBI/DBD to integrate with Apache.

§          Wrote triggers, stored procedures in PLSQL to provide text file data used by manufacturing for reporting.

§          Responsible for administration, maintenance, optimization, and setup of servers from the ground up to a fully-featured running web and database servers. Installed, configured IIS, MTS for NT servers. §          SOME OF MY PROJECTS INCLUDE:

• Document and Training Support System - This project is the web implementation of the company's document control system. The system is created for a paperless circulation, control of corporate confidential standard documents which automatically converts uploaded files into PDF format and make them available on the web for reference.
  I was responsible for the hardware planning (includes capacity, system requirements), setup, and development. Used ASP, VB6, VBScript, Javascript, COM/DCOM, Acrobat, MS SQL Server 7, IIS, MTS, Visual Interdev, Photoshop.
• Training Database Application - This project is a web interface for the company's database of employee records and trainings.
  I was responsible for the setup of web server and database server. Design, graphics, layout, development using IIS, MTS, ASP, VB6, VBScript, Javascript, DCOM/COM, MS SQL Server, used stored procedures, triggers, and Full Text Indexing Search. Used Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Visual Interdev.
• FCPP Visitors Application Web Site - This local intranet site provides the visitors easy submission of their application to visit the company. Includes hotel reservation, flight details, rentacar services, etc.
  I was responsible for the setup of web and database server, both on UNIX platform. Used Solaris 7 OS, Apache, installed mod_perl, Apache-DBI, DBI, DBD, and many perl modules. Installed, configured Unix Oracle 8i as backend database. Developed the web system using CGI, Perl, Javascript, used Net-SMTP for email processing, DBI, DBD-Oracle, LWP, Spreadsheet,and other required modules. Designed the database table structure and write oracle triggers, stored procedures, PLSQL scripts, and unix shell scripts.
• Allegro Web Inquiry - This project serves as an inquiry web page for the manufacturing system who wants to get the real time information of a HDD from online production unix data servers.
  I was responsible for setup of web server, development, design, and planning. Used Solaris 7 OS, Apache, CGI, Perl, Javascript. Write shell scripts that is executed to get the data from several Unix Solaris online servers in text file format. Also used RSH, RCP, bourne shell scripting, FTP. Dreamweaver, Photoshop.
