| Hopewell Culture National Historical Park Chillicothe, Ohio A 2000 year old 16 acre Necropolis on the Scioto River with 23 mounds enclosed by earth walls. Usually known as Mound City. Perhaps the most important site for information about the Hopewell Culture. One of the mounds housed some 200 pipes, some of which like the one below are now for view in the British Museum. |
