Years ago I built a similar sized layout known as "The Great Southwestern" named after a short industrial line here in the greater dallas area. The area was owned by both the MP and the Rock Island, though it was switched with MP SW10's, it did have it's own yard and tracks.
I feel that the 19 feet of layout will be a better representation of the Springfield tracks than it was of the 10 square miles of GSW track. Additionally, the Springfield TSE had a variety of MP power, which gives me much more freedom as a modeler to buy and detail engines to suit.
