Postcards
(Dido)

My lover's gone
His boots no longer by my door
He left at dawn
And as I slept I felt him go

(Maxi)

New York, New York, temperature's dropping
The band's out shopping
Not stopping till ears drop
Cops protect shops
Lots of yellow cabs and bell hops
And it never stops
I'm waiting to do an interview
So much to tell you
Today I feel close enough to smell you
Additional dates they were planning just fell through
Florida's out we fly September 22
To Heathrow, so that not really long to go
Tonight will be a brilliant show
Letting you know I miss you
More than four hits the floor at a party
Send my love to everybody
Please, send my love to everybody

Honey I'm writing from D.C.
Feeling queasy, staying healthy on the road is not easy
The TM recommend Sanatogen
Not one of them could resist taking the...
I miss you like a lock on the door, what's more
I go to sleep with my walkman
Cause half the crew snore
Don't mean to be a bore
Everybody's being great
But there's 15 of us in a bus state-to-state
So I stay up late with a tape
Or meditate, by day he's travelling at 55mph
When we make it to LA
I'll still be miles away
It's not my best day
I'm gonna get some rest
God bless

My lover's gone
My lover's gone

(Maxi)

We just stopped at a diner
So I'm taking time to write a few lines
I'm fine, sun's shining
Bus drivers reclining on the grass
As the trucks pass, gleaming with a flash of sunlight
From the glass on the windscreen
As for us it's too much to relate
We've done 5 gigs yet we're only in our 3rd state
America's big, you'll love how they pile up your plate
Only place in the world
Even I can gain weight
Our next state is Wilmington, Belaware
Open air, there's a rumour Melle Mel'll be there
Anyway, all my love, God bless, I'm yawning
I really miss watching you get dressed in the morning

(Dido)

My lover's gone
My lover's gone
My lover's gone
No earthly ships will ever bring him home again
Written by Maxi Jazz, Dido, Jamie Catto, Rollo & Sister Bliss
Maxi Jazz - Rap
Dido - Chorus vocals
Dave Randall - Guitar
Sudha - Percussion
DJ Swamp - Scratches
This experimental track relies a lot on a heavy drumbeat, lead by Sister Bliss alternating between piano and strings. It is a song of two halves - Maxi's rap is about his experiences on tour in the US while Dido's chorus vocals see it from Maxi's partner's point of view.

The song contains lyrics from Dido's 'My Lover's Gone' but this song was actually written before Dido's recordings.
