Hebrews 13: 8 says, �Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.�
One day, Jesus had a woman thrown down at His feet who had been caught in the act of adultery. You will find the account of it in John chapter 8.
Obviously, this woman�s life was a mess - she had made wrong choices and now she had been caught out. The religious men who caught her condemned her to death, and now they demanded Jesus� verdict on her situation.
But instead of joining with the men in their condemnation of her - a condemnation of which Jesus knew she was worthy - He began to write on the ground. As the men continued asking Him for His judgement, He looked up and said to them, �He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.�
One by one the men left, leaving Jesus alone with the woman. Having dealt with her accusers Jesus says to her, �I don�t condemn you: go, and sin no more.�
This woman was having an encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ - who was not only able to save her from the penalty of her sin, but was also able to deliver and free her from the power of that sin to bring her back under it�s bondage.
THAT WAS YESTERDAY - WHAT ABOUT TODAY?
Maybe when you are around religious people you feel condemned. Well, Jesus didn�t come to condemn people - He came to save people. You can know Him not only as your personal Saviour, but also as your Deliverer - Who doesn�t just forgive you for sin, but also breaks the power of that sin in your life, so that you are no longer controlled by it.
Spend some time at Jesus� feet today - you�ll get up free from religious condemnation, and free from life-controlling, life-destroying habits and lifestyle.
