| The SECOND resurrection will include the unrighteous dead � the wicked of all generations, who will be brought before the Great White Throne to have their judgement pronounced and sealed. �Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead which were in it, and Death and Hell delivered up the dead which were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. Then Death and Hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And anyone not found in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire� � Revelation 20: 11 � 15 The hope of the church through all generations has been to partake in the first resurrection, thus escaping the judgement which is coming on all who have rejected God�s free offer of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. |
| �If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead� � Philippians 3: 11 �How shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation� � Hebrews 2: 3 The Christian hope is an eternity spent in the presence of God � this is and has always been the foundational motivation for moving forward into greater intimacy and relationship with our heavenly Father and our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. It is not a case of dreamily �waiting� for the realisation of this hope, but rather we are called to press on to know Him in the here and now � to develop a relationship with Him through which we can walk in the fullness of His blessing, and also release His blessing to others. See Philippians 3: 7 � 21 And so the call goes out to move on from the basic, fundamental, and elementary principles of the doctrine of Christ and to continue in His Word in order that He might build His church according to His plan and purpose � a church against which the counsels of hell cannot prevail! See Matthew 7: 24 � 29 It is time to learn the ABC�s and then move on to maturity. Jesus says that He is the �Alpha and the Omega� � He is the A to Z � and so if we are to know Him and walk in His fullness we must move on from the basic ABC�s into ALL that He has prepared for us! |
