Views / Expressions / Thoughts

Before I came here, I thought that the educational system of Japan if not exellent, is better than that of the Philippines. I was wrong and a little disappointed. When I was back home, I didn't really give much attention to our national problems but beacause of my situation now ( in kosen ) you can say that I've become a nationalist. Not only did I compare Japan's Culture to ours but also the people's attitude toward each other and their way of thinking. It's only here that I've discovered how beautiful and nice to live in the Philippines everytime I have the chance to speak about Philippines. I proudly stand in front and say that I'm a Filipino. So, even though it's difficult to live in strange land all alone, having so much frustrations and struggles to fight, I'm still hoping that making good impression to the people we meet and of course finishing our studies here will somehow, in a way bring good blessings to our motherland. I hope that you share the same ideals with me.
We're not only here for ourselves, but also for our country.
My main reason of coming to Japan was just for my independence. I wanted to live on my own, not depending on my parents and getting away from my monotonous life in Mapua. But now, I've promised myself to change the image of our country, especially that of the Filipinas. It's so sad to hear what the other nationalities say about our women and it's so insulting when they asked me if I have any "part time job". It just makes me mad when I think about it.
