The song of Kerhan the Brave and his comrades who went against a venomous spider deep within the layers, making traveling through the wilderness safe again from tricksey spiders and their nasty venom.
The Cave of Spiders
The Cave of Spiders
"Thar wos a spider
Who live in a cave
That for-forty-five years
Doubled as a grave
But only last week
Were we all saved
By Troon's hearty heroes
And Kerhan the brave.
Now you've all heard of the spider
And his water spout
But now heroes went in
To wash the thing out
It took only one trip
And a frightening shout
For as a villain this spider
Lacked the regular clout
As we know of caves
One particular trick
They are always made of mazes
Long deep and slick
And if you only go in
With one or two wicks
You won't see the crawler
Whose bite makes you sick
But these heroes had magic
That shone like the sun
Which sparkled and glittered
Before the test had begun
Whats to fear from a light
Thought the eight leggers in fun
Oh sad they knew not
We had more trick than one
So down from the pit
Of a rather poor smell
Both up from our feet
An' from-the ceiling the fell
Upon the comrades
Who's story I tell
Creatures more awful
More vile, than hell!"
"But spiders you see
Lack various things
Like the ability to craft
Armors or rings
And in that there
A weakness that brings
Me to the point
Of how a battle axe sings
So with mighty and dangerous blows we did cleave
Vicious creatures of hell's happy eve
Who fought oh so viley with poison and sneers
The honorable heroes who began to draw near
As the battle drew on into the dusk
Came the wretched and awful death smell of musk
With eight eyes burning for blood and fire
Arrived the king of the spider empire
With his venemous, enemous, spit bringing fangs
He attacked great Kerhan again and again
And the beast fell upon him with a horrible might
To give to our hero his final respite
But crippled and wounded the great Kerhan roared
And tore three legs away with his sword
The poison that crippled him, vile and shoddy
Dropped Kerhan.................
After he left his sword in the spider kings body!
His allies and comrades took up a rage
An'-hit the spider so-hard he was thrown back an age
And a little-tiny-theif put a little-peice of lead
From a little-tiny-crossbow through the spider kings head.
"From the dark nest
Our heroes appeared
They had not gone
To their death as we feared
An' the strong arm of Troon
So secret and weird
Entered the gates
Of the city, uncheered!
Quietly, humbley
They met at the inn
Each took a bath
And then begin
To sit, rather small-ish
Or take a small din
An' decide when best
To ride out again."
