More Rush Journeys (may include spoilers!)
Last tour I wrote an adventure story on rush.net about Rush's last U.S. date in Manchester, New Hampshire, wherein many of us fans stayed at the same hotel as Rush (complete coincidence) and four of us went to the bowling alley the night before the concert and I finally got to say hello to Alex.

I'll consider this a continuation of that story as it started at the Holiday Inn in Manchester, New Hampshire last tour...

Many of us fans were hanging out in the hotel bar (not a lot to do in Manchester). A guy came in and sat to my right at the bar and we began chatting away. I assumed he was another Rush fan, but a half hour or so into the conversation, he introduces himself as Dave and tells me that he's Neil's bus driver. We chatted some more and kept in touh by e-mail after the tour.

A couple of weeks prior to Rush's opening show in Nashville this tour, I secured a 2nd row center seat (with my very good friend, Pete -- aren't Rush fans great : - ) ).  Dave would be working with Rush again this tour and knew that I would be at the opening show in Nashville.  Dave e-mailed me back that he might have a surprise for me since I was arriving the day before the show -- and I had no idea what to expect.
The night before the "official" opening show, I met up with Dave at a local Nashville restaurant where the food was absolutely wonderful, and afterwards I was on my way to something that I've only dreamed about -- literally!

Dave asked me if I knew where the amphitheater was where Rush would be performing and said we were going directly there.  Before I could really figure out what was going on, I was pulling into the amphitheater behind Dave and being issued a guest pass.  I had dinner with the crew and entered the amphitheater for what I thought was a soundcheck.

Shortly thereafter, Rush took the stage for the soundcheck. Among other songs, they played The Seeker at least four times... and it sounded great! Then they left the stage for a dinner break.

Dave was busy so he pretty much left me on my own to enjoy the show while he attended to other business.

Just as Rush was about to take the stage for the rehearsal, I saw another familiar face. Adrien was working the video camera again. We chatted for a moment and then I sat about sixth row center -- it was pretty much just me and the crew in the amphitheater! Adrien yelled something over at me about seeing me more than any other fan at the shows (but hey, I always say hello to him -- he's such a cutie) and he added how fortunate I was to be at the rehearsal show, and I yelled back (jokingly) "And I can't think of anyone more deserving than me to be here!"  Right then, I glanced a figure behind Adrien and, as I looked up on the stage, Alex was standing right behind Adrien with a big smile on his face! I don't know if he was smiling because of our conversation or not.  Hey -- never assume anything anymore after my bowling alley adventure last tour!
