REMEMBER WHEN.........
It was so hard to go to sleep Christmas Eve. Just lying there waiting for Santa to come down the chimney. Any noise could have been Santa. Getting up early the next morning and waking our parents so we could see what Santa had brought us. Checking our stockings and all the excitment. I can remember my children going through the same things. Only we were the parents who were trying to sleep because we had been up late getting all the last minute things ready for Santa. Now I am sure my children are doing all these things for their children.

THE REAL MEANING.........
Long time ago.......Traveling to Bethlehem, Mary and Joseph found no room in the inn. They had to stay in a stable where the cattle were kept. There a little baby was born. They wrapped the baby in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger.
On that night some shepherds were tending their flock and suddenly a great light shone upon them. The angel said to them: Fear not for behold, I bring you
great joy. For there is born to you this day in Bethlehem, the city of David, a Saviour who is Christ the Lord.They went to Bethlehem to see the baby lying in a manger.
Some time later the Wise Men saw a star shinning bright in the sky, and followed the star to Bethlehem. There they found baby Jesus. They knew at once he was the King. They fell down on their faces and worshiped him as the Lord. They brought him gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.
The name given to the baby was "Jesus" a word which means "salvation" - for he was to bring salvation to the world.

SMELL OF CHRISTMAS .........
Turkey, Mom's Dressing, Ham, that special dish brought
by Grandma or Auntie. Egg Nog with Nutmeg, Pumpkin and pecan pie, fudge,
cookies, and don't forget the cranberry sauce especially made by Ann.
Pine Cones, Cinnamon and the Christmas Tree.
