The Personal Website of  Donna Bauman
Donna is a multitalented woman with keen interest in writing, rosary making, historical sites and Catholic shrines, religious folklore and lifestyle.  Her poems have been published in numerous periodicals, including Purpose, Mature Years, Science of Mind, and Aim. Her personal essays have appeared in Good Old Days, Bereavement and Kaleidoscope.

For nearly 20 years she has been a rosary maker.  Her rosaries have been donated to prisons, the military and missionaries.  Thus, her rosaries have been distributed nationally and internationally.  They have been donated to peoples in Africa, Mexico, England, Russia, the Philippines, South America and numerous other places.

Donna not only makes rosaries, she teaches others how to make them. She makes bead and chain rosaries of various sizes and styles.  She has written a book, The Military Rolled Knot Rosary, which is an illustrated, step-by-step guide to making rosaries from nylon cord.  Thousands of these rosaries have been given to military personnel in Iraq and other places in the world.

Since the mid-1980s, Donna and her husband, Richard, have visited many Catholic shrines and historical places in the United States.  Of special interest to Donna was the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C.; The Shrine of the Miraculous Medal in Missouri; the site of St. Frances Cabrini in Colorado; Our Lady of the Snows in Illinois, most of the California Missions, and Loretto Chapel in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

The Creativity of the Shakers and the old ways of the Amish are also meaningful to her.  In 2003, Donna was able to fulfill her dream of visiting Lancaster, PA to see the Amish way of life, firsthand.  During the same trip, she visited Hancock Shaker Village in Pittsfield, MA to see how the Shakers worked and lived. In 2006 she visited southeastern Ohio and experienced the Amish in that region.

Donna is grandmother to four super grandsons: Noah, 18; Luke, 14; Patrick, 10 and Mason 5 years
