Welcome to my homepage!  I teach keyboarding and computer applications to beginning computer students.  This course is a graduation requirement designed to provide students with basic skills and knowledge in the use of computers.
I also teach innovative applications using technology, which is a course designed to teach students how to make presentations and how to use the internet for research.  I also teach World Processing.  This is a course in which students enrich their keyboarding skills and prepare for the business world.  I also teach desktop publishing.  This is a course designed to allow students to design letterheads, newsletters, and various projects.
I also teach Certified Advanced Networking.  This is a course designed to teach students how to design, build, and maintain networks.  The curriculum is entirely web-based and designed by Cisco Systems, Inc.  Long Beach High School is a Regional academy for Cisco.  On May 4, 1999, I received my CCNA certification.  On October 18,1999, I received my CCAI certification.  I received my recertification on June 25, 2001.  I received a recertification on July 2, 2003.
The networking academy is a four semester program designed to give students basic knowledge in internetworking.  The four semester courses are:
First Semester Curriculum:  Networking Essentials and Cisco Networking
Fundamentals
OSI model and industry standards
Local area network theory and technologies
Network topologies
IP addressing, including subnet masks
Basic network design
Second Semester Curriclum:  Cisco Router Theory and Router Technologies
Beginning Router configurations
Routed and Routing protocols
Introduction to lan switching
Third Semester Curriculum:  Cisco Advanced Routing and Switching
Advanced Router Configuration
LAN switching
Network management
Advanced network design
Fourth Semester Curriclum:  WANs and project based learning
Wide area networks
Advanced network design projects
Advanced network management projects
