Intended for those wanting to view the nights sky through a telescope from a foothill location with dark skies.  We'll provide the telescopes and locate ~35 objects for you to see.
Simply show up at 8:30 PM to learn about the telescopes and ask any astronomy questions you may have. Bring a heavy jacket.
Restrooms will be at first two locations.
All stargazing is free and open to the public.
An alcohol-free and pet-free event.  
8:30 to 9:00 PM: Arrive, meet the astronomers and ask questions about the telescopes
9:00 to 10:30 PM: View the heavens through the telescopes
If you wish to bring a telescope and share the views with others, please contact Don Machholz (530) 346-8963 beforehand.  Click here for guidelines. You may stay the remainder of the night for dark-sky viewing.
