Known By: muflone (Italian), Corsican mouflon, European mouflon, musimon, musmon, Sardinian mouflon Did You Know: Mouflon are the most primitive of all sheep breed and can jump a 6 or 8 foot fence. The name "Corsican" was coined by the YO Ranch in Texas to differentiate the hybrids from the Mouflon. Most Muflon being raised in the U.S. today are really a hydrid known as the Corsican Muflon. Corsican Mouflon are red-brown with a dark back-stripe, light colored saddle patch and underparts. The males are horned and the females are horned or polled.
