Quite a day! We got up fairly early because Judie was having trouble sleeping. Had breakfast then got cleaned up and started on our errands. We went down & I left Judie at the library so she could check on the Internet. I went & bought some more wine and got gas. Then we went back to pack up the rig and hit the road. Drove west on 234 and headed for Luray. Judie found this park thinking it wasn't too expensive and sounded good. Well, it's good enough but even with the Good Sam 10% discount it is about $26. The people seem to be German; I didn't ask but the accent is there. We are on a hill about 40 feet above the road and 200 yards back from it. There is a strong smell of farm animals too. We got in and were backing into our slot when about 10 Airstreams pulled in. Nice timing! We had a glass of wine and decided to go check out the Shenandoah National Park.

Very nice place but pretty darned twisty! We drove down the Skyline Drive a ways and found a place to take a little hike. We walked up to the Little Stony Man Cliffs. They say it is .9 mile round trip and has 300 feet of vertical rise. We were pretty darn tired out by it. Sammie liked it ok but she found some water at the top & liked that ok. The view was nice. I've loaded the pictures into the Shenandoah NP folder. We'll try another hike tomorrow.

The big excitement for Sammie was all the deer we saw along the road. There were at least 15 to 18 munching the grass along side of the road. Since we all know deer are easily spooked, I was doing well under 20 mph whenever we saw them. Besides, you get a better look at Bambi that way. (All were hornless and pretty small, maybe yearlings because it looked like they were losing their winter coats.) Sammie loved it though, she was bouncing from one side of the truck to the other trying to see everything.

After the hike, we came down and had pizza in Luray. It looks like a nice little town; Pizza Hut, KFC and Subway; what more could you want?

Got a nice night's rest. It's pretty quiet out here on the farm. We had a nice traditional bacon and eggs breakfast in the morning, too.

Decided to make the day a day of rest. After breakfast, I took a nice long nap and Judie lay in front of the TV doing the same.

Late in the afternoon I went into town, discovered the Wal-Mart and the Food Lion, bought more wine and filled the truck with gas. BBQ'd pork chops for dinner. 2 hours of Funniest Home Video's filled our evening.
