Congratulations to Jong Hyun Park. He first took the TWE in May and received an essay score of 3.5. He started work with Kent, June 20th and in July scored a 5.0 on the TWE essay, with an overall score of 263. This shows how the hard work and dedication he put in paid off. The only thing that kept him from having a much higher overall score is at that time Kent did not know how well the listening comprehension website would help on this portion of the TWE. -- Jong Hyun Park [[email protected]]
I have just called the ETS score report service. When I heard my score, I doubted my ears. The essay rating is 5.5! Sectional scores are 24, 28, and 30 in LC, SW, and RC, respectively. The overall score is 273, which would be from 640 to 643 in the old scoring system. Actually, I did not think I would receive such a high essay score. Although I think that the examples were treated in some detail, I do not think that I argued nicely, or made a great conclusion paragraph. Instead, one of my strategies at that time was not to repeat the same words or structures, that is, to demonstrate as many various structures as possible. I thought that was the only choice for me to appeal to the scorers. That was because I did not think I could do a very good job of organizing the essay at the paragraph level with the given topic which required me to discuss the qualities of a good parent. So, looking back on the essay, I suppose that the scorers rated high the structure and word level organization. I think your constant assistance and encouragement was crucial to this unexpectedly high score. This tutoring service was really helpful. -- Seo Mun-Kyo [[email protected]]
