My Poetry
Old TV
In the attic crawl the spiders
to the places I won't go
Where we once were cosmic riders
now all cobwebs; dark and low

I still remember space guns blazing
rocking horse bob to and fro
Jumping over crazy paving
Thunderbirds WOW go man go

Sat on the couch with fingers twitching
Troy Tempest playing on TV
I fell in love with sweet
Marina
Stingray was the place to be

Stars twinkled in the darkest yonder
back in nineteen sixty-five
Steve Zodiac he made us wonder
as he piloted
Fireball XL5

The dusty desert swept side to side
the
Lone Ranger..yeah of course
And who'd be first to get a ride
on
Champion the Wonder Horse

Behind the couch in shaking fear
not knowing what to do
As
Daleks stalked the Universe
being chased by
Dr Who

Across the cosmos speeding on
the Enterprise and crew
Jean Luc Picard or Captain Kirk
the choice is up to you

The re-runs are now playing
they all seem weak and mild
because they're missing one thing
The wonder of a child
