My Poetry
Immeasurable
She grasped my hand
like I would protect
and smiled as only a child can
She called me Don
in the softest of tones
My heart melted
as the tiny miracle
walked me across the road
Her eyes shone so bright
I could see the innocence
hidden behind them
The wonder of childish trust
and inwardly prayed
that she'd be forever
as sweet as she was just now.
Her tiny hand squeezed
a little harder
as a car came close to us
There was no fear in her eyes
just complete trust
and a love that is just
impossible to measure
