The window isn't open as I sit and watch the day the birds I know are singing in their very special way
The cat is chasing mice around the new cut lawn and the owls are up there sleeping but soon they'll hunt till dawn
The tiny little creatures that live around my house are scurrying through the undergrowth and chatting with a mouse
The leaves are gathering sunlight photosynthesis in full flow and rain is falling gently to where raindrops usually go
The clouds drift by in sequence across the dulling sky and the child whose fell and skinned his knee has a teardrop in his eye
The grass is getting greener and the weeds pop up their heads while the flowers bloom so brightly in their well tilled earthy beds
The hustle of the city is but a few miles away as I watch the blackbird singing on the branches as they sway
I'm only looking out the window through the double glazing and yet I know this all goes on isn't life amazing |
