My Poetry
Airs and Graces
The vast pretence the airs and graces
the false wide smiles and falser faces,
the awkward bow and casual glance
the upturned nose and posing stance,
the champagne flowing, duly chilled
the long silk dresses fancy frilled,
the constant mention of the brand new car
the long wide drive they plan to tar,
the pass you by across the street
the dainty steps of fashioned feet,
the smuggest looks when passing by
the slanted smile and stabbing eye,
upper classes party planners
born without care and without manners.
