County Teams

Good luck to the County 16's and 18's going on tour to Wales this Friday morning. They will play 2 games and also attend a Neath-Swansea Ospreys game. There are quite a number of players from our club going, along with Jon and Robert, so hopefully they'll come back after doing what the Irish seniors couldn't, beat the Welsh on home soil. Either way, Jon can smile...

Ulster Youth Squad

Recently two of our U18's made the final 22 of the Ulster U18 squad. Donal Byrne (No. 8/Lock) and Ronan Gillespie (Prop) made up two of the three County Donegal players from last year who got picked. Ivan Corrigan was Unlucky to be omitted due to injury. Eoghan McNeill of Ballyshannon also made the squad as a winger.

Conal O'Callaghan and Pete-so Cannon have been called up to the Ulster U-17 squad also

Ciaran Tully, Cillian Byrne, Pete-so Cannon, Donal Byrne and Conal O'Callaghan all attended trial in Maherafelt for the Ulster U-17s recently

Byrne to 'answer Ireland's call'

Demon's and Ulster Under-18 forward Donal Byrne has been included in the Ireland Youth squad for the Spring Internationals. He joins a 45 man panel, considered as one of the younger players (he's still only 16 and a student at Glenties Comprehensive) he will have to train through the winter to stand a chance of being selected to face the Italians in the new year. We wish him all the best.

Donal has been selected to start at No.4 for the Irish Under 18's against Italy this weekend (12th). We wish him, his 3 Ulster team-mates and the rest of the team well.
