It was a beautiful day at Arni Village.  The seagulls were chirping, the
ocean waves were shining from the high noon sun and the people of the
village were outside enjoying there activies.  Serge was looking out of
his window to find some of the kids from Arni were swimming in the ocean
by the pier... he smiled as he saw Leena walking up the shoreline in her 
usual blue and brown dress with her red hair down.  He thought she was
the most beautiful person in the world... and she thought the same about
him.  Serge turned from the window and stared into his room.

Serge: "Guess I should at least go talk to her"

He ran out of his room and down the stairs of his house.  He ran out
the door and outside into the village.  He turned to see the fisherman
of the village... the father of Kiki... a little girl that lived in the
cottage next to his.  He and a group of friends had caught another 
gigantic sawfish, Serge knew that if he went over there... he wouldn't 
hear the end of it.  Kiki's father always had a big story to go along
with his catch and it was the same everytime.  Serge went the other
way to the pier to find Leena... she was the only one Serge had really
talked too seriously about.  They had talked about the things they
used to do as kids, the carefree time attitudes at times of need...
such as when Serge's father had gone missing.  They even talked about
a true relationship, they talked about anything to keep Serge's mind
off of the battle with Lavos and how they saved the world from fate.

Serge saw the edge of the pier and slowed his pace down to a steady
walk... he looked around to find the boat too the shore was gone.

Serge: *Fisherman must be out there... catching another big one...
that's all they do.  Sleep and fish... sleep and fish*

Kid: "Oi Serge, do you always talk to yerself?"

Serge looked up and saw Kid in the boat to the shore.  She was the
same as usual.  Same clothes, same hair... and the same austrailian
accent that he liked (^_^)  Kid rowed up next to the pier and looked
at Serge.

Kid: "Something wrong mate?  You don't seem yerself"

Serge: "Huh? Oh... No im just waiting for Leena... I thought she 
would come back here any time now"

Kid: "Oi, you don't have to wait for Leena... I saw her go back to
her cottage for a nap, you didn't see her?"

Serge: "Well no... she was just walking on the... beach.. line"

Serge turned around to show Kid... but she was right, Leena wasn't
there.

Kid: "Now don't go gettin all depressed on me mate..."

Serge ignored her, his eyes were fixed on the shoreline where he saw
Leena at.  

Kid: "You know what you need mate?"

Serge: "What?"

Kid: "You need to relax more... how bout a spin in the rowboat with 
me?  I found a good fishin spot"

Serge: "Um.. sure, I didn't know you liked to fish"

Kid: "Don't every bloke in this here village?"

Serge: "Ah, not really... but I guess if it's to help relax...
i guess theres no harm in it"

Kid: "That's the spirit"

Kid grinned at em as Serge stepped into the boat.  She saw his 
facial expression as he almost fell off... she was about to jump
and get him up.  Then she thought about what he might say if
she did... stuff like "you helped me?" or "Are you ok?".  But
she replied with...

Kid: "Yer bloody clumbsy... you know that?"

Serge: "Heh.. thanks"

He finally sat down after regaining his balance... He proped on of
his legs up on a seat next to kid and kept the other one of the floor.
He relaxed his right arm on the leg he proped on the seat... he looked
at Kid.

Serge: "Alright... ready when you are"

Kid was at a blank stare

Serge: "Uh.. Kid?  Hey?"

Serge snapped his fingers

Kid: "Oh!  Oi.. um.. sorry bout that"

Serge: "Its ok.. want me to row?"

Kid: "Sure, if you wanna"

Serge took the paddles of the boat and put them in the water... he 
gently guided his way away from the pier.  The ocean blue water
sparkled in the sun... Kid had her back turned to Serge and was
enjoying the ride.  Serge was paddling the boat and looking at the
fish as he rowed like a pro.

Kid: "Serge... stop..."

Serge: "Huh?"

Kid: "Just stop for a sec"

Serge stopped paddling and the point drifted across the sea.  They 
had pattled about 100 yards away from the shore... Kid slowly turned
to Serge and stared in his eyes.

Serge: "What's the matter?"

Kid: "I just wanted ter enjoy the sun for a minute.. that's all"

Serge: "Oh, ok.."

Serge pulled the paddles back in the boat and layed back on the back.

Serge: "Sun sure feels great doesn't it?"

Kid: *Common.. close yer eyes already...*

Serge: "Kid?"

Kid: "Oh.. sorry, thought I saw a big sawfish"

Serge: "Oh.. it's fine..."

Serge layed and stared up at the sky... the warm sun started to sink
in on him.  He felt drowsy

Kid: *That's it... close yer eyes*

Serge drifted off into a light sleep... Kid was alone out in the
sea

Kid: *Just a quick kiss... that's all I want.*

Kid was nervous.. but she made her way over to him in the boat...
slightly rocking from her movement.  Serge stayed asleep, the
sun beating down on both of them... She wasn't sure if she
should've been doing this.  

Kid: *Just a kiss... not too much*

She sat down where he was, put her hand between Serge's legs
(She's not touching anything you Hentai <_<;;) and leaned over
to his face.  His lips were slightly parted because of his 
face being pointed up, his tan skin attracted Kid attention.
She couldn't bear it.  She moved her hand to his chest, leaned
down... and kissed him on his lips.  He slowly opened his eyes 
and was startled.

Serge: "Kid?!"

Kid jumped back a little and back onto her seat

Kid: "Serge..."

Serge: "Wh..What are you doing?!"

Kid: "Serge... This is why I brought you out here... I
like ya.  No, I love ya"

Serge: "Love me?  Why?"

Kid: "I've always admired yer strength... and determination.  You
saved me from eternal sleep.  Nobody else wouldve done that fer
me...  Serge.. I love ya!"

Serge didnt know what to think.  He was in total shock from
being kissed by a girl who he thought would never find love.

Serge: "..."

Kid: "Oi... Can I tell you something?"

Serge: "Um.. sure."

Kid: "Well, i've been having these dreams... that I might lose
someone dear to me very soon.  I dunno what its means... I don't
even know if it's gonna happen, but I realized that when I met
ya... I was happy for the first time in a long time.  But I knew
I couldnt keep ya for meself because of Leena..."

Serge: "Kid... Leena is just my friend now.  I thought the same
thing about you and Korcha..."

Kid: "KORCHA?!?! THAT BALD BLOKE?!"

Serge: "Calm down Kid.. i know its nothing now... I love you too"

Kid was also shocked... she didn't ever think she WOULD ever find
someone to love for herself.   She slowly went slid back over
to him... not sure what she was doing... it had been the first
time that she had ever kissed someone.  Serge sat up and stared
at her, Kid leaned over and kissed him again... this time she closed
her eyes and enjoyed every bit of it.

What was going on in Serge's mind... Kid didn't know... All she knew
was is that she loved him and that was it.  Loved him for strength, 
determination... and happiness.  

Serge didn't know what was running through Kid's head either.  As
they were kissing... Moments of Kid's pass suddenly flashed back 
through her head.  Bad moments with Lynx and how Serge tried to
save her.  She couldn't bear it... another memory she wanted to 
let go!  SHE WANTED TO BE BE FREE!!!!

"Kid... ugh... no..." said a rasp voice.

Kid's eyes opened slowly... she was still in the boat with Serge...
but it wasn't a happy moment.  A bloody dagger layed in Serge's chest,
through his back.  Kid's hand still on it... covered with Serge's blood.

Kid: "N...No!"

Serge's head went incredibly limp... the dagger had pierced his heart and
killed him almost instantly.  She killed him.  Out of frustration of her
past... she accidently killed the one that she loved.

Kid: "SERGE!"

Her eyes filled with tears and she took the dagger out of his chest and
dropped it in the water... the blood came to the surface, Kid took
Serge's dead body and hugged him... and started to cry uncontrolably.
She didn't want this to happen... she couldn't believe it.  

Kid cried until the sunset... never again could she love another
like she did Serge.  After long hours... she finally layed him
in the boat.  She took the paddles, placed them in the blood stained
water.. and rowed out into the sea.  She wasn't planning on returning
to Arni Village, she wasn't going to bear looking at the sad face
of Leena and the rest of the village.

Ever again.
