While they often refer to him as "Flash" and "our Cyber-Dad", the folks who 'talk' with Don on the Parkinson's Information Exchange Network know him as one who never gives up, who will fight PD every single day. He is admired and loved by us, his fellow "Parkies," and by his family, the love of his life, Vivian, and their two daughters, Doni and Cheryl.

Don was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 1963 and probably had it for five years before he knew what was wrong. Don's love of dancing, golfing, and bowling might have been a key factor in helping him overcome the effects of PD for as long as he has.

Dr. Christos Ioannidis, Don's neurologist, became a close friend of Don's after seeing someone so willing to fight to "do his thing."

Don has a unique way of showing his affection to other list-members - he signs his messages with "I.Y.Q." ("I like you"). Through his faith, his abilities and his strength, his friends and his cyber-buddies know Don's love of life.
