5th Annual Meet 2002: Report

      The Fifth Annual Meet 2002 of DBM90 Mates was conducted at Hotel Trichur Towers, Great Hall, on 31st March, 2002 Easter Sunday at 6pm. It was a grand success. Many batch mates attended the function and enjoyed the spirit of merriment and nostalgia. The meeting started with a minute of silent prayer. The welcome speech was delivered by the President, Vito Varghese. The annual report and passing of accounts was done by the Secretary, Adv. Ranjith Xavier. The meeting expressed its grief in the sad demises of  the father of  Mr. Sivakumar Gangadhar K.G and the father of Praveen K.C ( Treasurer ). Jose Varghese, our fellow batch mate who passed away, was also remembered.  The meeting congratulated the newly married members. The past five years of the DBM90 Mates were assessed. The future programs and suggestions from the members were discussed. The meeting approved the emblem of DBM90. The office bearers shared the experiences from the extensive home visits made by them. Members who first attended the meeting filled up and submitted the bio-data forms. All members  introduced themselves. The meeting decided to bring in members who have not yet attended any meetings so far. The meeting considered the possibility of conducting a Grand Family Meet within a couple of years at the premises of Don Bosco High School, Mannuthy inviting all the past teachers.

6th Annual Meet 2003: Report

      The Sixth Annual Meet 2003 of DBM90 Mates was conducted at Hotel Luciya Palace, Durbar Hall, on 20th April, 2003 Easter Sunday at 6.30 pm. 29 members attended the function. Before commencing the meeting, the members were supplied Name Badges. Attendance was recorded. The meeting started with one-minute silent prayer. Thereafter, Vinod .J Simon, who passed away on 28th January, 2003 was remembered. The meeting expressed its deep grief in his untimely and tragic demise. Jose Varghese, who passed away earlier, was also remembered. A minute of silence was observed as a mark of love and respect towards the departed souls. The Presidential address was rendered by Vito Varghese. The Secretary, Adv. Ranjith Xavier presented the Report of the Annual Meet, 2002 and Annual Accounts. The six-yester years of DBM90 was evaluated. The members shared a splendid time attending the event. The meeting congratulated the newly wed members. Sweets were distributed to celebrate the birth of a baby boy to Adv. Ranjith Xavier. The future programs and suggestions from the members were discussed. To promote promptness in attending the Annual Meets, "EARLY BIRD" gifts were introduced. Adv. Joemon Kunnath and Anto .V Mathew who arrived first were congratulated and they were awarded the Early Bird gifts. As a part of making the Annual Meets more colourful and interesting, a "LUCKY DIP" contest was conducted. Lots were taken twice. Viggi .K George and Shiv Kumar Gangadhar won the prizes. The renewed Address List of Members was published and subjected to scrutiny by members. The Executive Committee members shared their experiences from the home visits made by them. All the members introduced themselves and gave their suggestions to improve the activities. The meeting discussed new ways to bring in members who have not yet attended any meetings so far. The meeting discussed about conducting a Family General Body Meet within a couple of years at the premises of Don Bosco High School, Mannuthy inviting all the past teachers. It was decided that periodical newsletters and intimations are to be sent to the members. The meeting decided to increase the annual subscription from Rs.150/- to Rs.200/- to enable the raising of funds. The new Executive Committee was unanimously selected. Varghese Cheeran took charge as the President of DBM90. Adv. Ranjith Xavier was selected as the Secretary and Adv. Davies Chiramel was selected as the Treasurer. Vito Varghese and Praveen K.C were selected as the Committee Members. Adv. Davies Chiramel said the vote of thanks. After dinner and entertainments the meeting was dispersed to join together again in 2004. ( To Be Presented on the 7th Annual Meet, 2004 )

We met on all Easter day evenings since 1998.

Found out the residences of most of the members and visited them in person.

Collected the details and photographs of many members.

Published an interim directory containing  the addresses of all the members.

This Website was created and is being constantly updated.

Photographs and updated news were included in our web site.

Submitted our Web Page to search engines like Google, Yahoo and Lycos.

Marked our presence at http://www.alumini.net

E-mails were sent to members to inform the Annual Meet.

Our batch mates visited the house of Praveen K.C on the death of his father and laid a wreath.

Constituted a fund for future activities.

Our batch mates attended the marriages of Reny.G.Mathew, Sajith George, Ashley Jose, Shaheed V.M, Devassy Kollannur, Adv. Mickey Nadakkalan, David Parappilly and Dr.Gopan T.V,Vinod Antony and Biju Chakkola.

On the death of our batch mate, Vinod.J.Simon, on 28th January, 2003, our batch mates visited his house and laid a wreath as a mark of our love and respect we hold for him.

The Sixth Annual Meet 2003 was conducted on 20th April, 2003 at Hotel Luciya Palace.

Visit to Don Bosco High School, Mannuthy on 29th March, 2002  

     We, Adv.Ranjith Xavier, Vito Varghese,  Praveen K.C, Adv.Davies J. Chirammel  and  Viju Kodenkandath  visited our alma mater ; DonBosco High School, Mannuthy on 29th March, 2002. Met Fr. Antony Pallassery. He gave us a hearty welcome and hot coffee. We browsed through the various batch photographs taken and relished our old memories. It was a nostalgic and happy evening after a whole tiring day of home visits to the Mannuthy side. Fr. Antony revived our memories showing the photographs of our old Saletian Fathers, Brothers and Aspirants.

 Fr. Thomas Poovelikkal who was our first Head Master is now stationed at Ambalakkadavu    ( Kannur ) Don Bosco High School.

 Fr. K.D Joseph, our last Head Master and our beloved English teacher is now the Head Master of Pudupally Don Bosco High School, Kottayam.

 Fr. George Arimpoor our Rector then, is now at Bangalore as the Provincial Economer.

 Fr. V.G Mathew our “long white  bearded” Father who was in charge of K.C.S.L is now at Aluva.

 Fr. Varghese Thannippara who was the Administrator of DonBosco Mannuthy then and who also taught us is now at Mannuthy as the Rector of our school.

 Fr. Fr. Antony Pallassery expressed his desire that we may invite our old teacher and conduct a grand meeting at our school.
