Donated Dental Services (DDS) is a statewide organization dedicated to meeting the oral health needs of disabled, elderly, or medically compromised Arkansans who cannot afford needed treatment.
DDS Volunteer Dental Specialists:
The Donated Dental Services (DDS) program is just one way that the dental profession reaches out to individuals with special needs who cannot afford dental treatment. These undeserved people now receive comprehensive dental care because of the compassion and commitment of thousands of volunteer dental specialists across the nation. Some of these specialists have offered to treat as many as five patients each year.

Unlike other volunteer service programs, DDS dental specialists donate services in their own offices instead of central treatment centers. The dentists thus work in familiar settings and most patients can get help in t conveniently located offices or their standard hospital settings.
Some patients have exceptional management or treatment needs. Many types of specialists also volunteer and help these individuals.

The office staffs of the participating dental specialists are important partners. They work with the DDS Referral Coordinator, schedule appointments with patients, resolve problems, and coordinate laboratory services for patients needing prosthetic services with the DDS Referral Coordinator.
Upon finishing treatment, the dentists report the procedures they completed and their value. The dentists also can suggest way to improve the referral process.
The Foundation gives all participating dental specialists engraved plaques to thank them for their community service. The generous support of the Colgate-Palmolive Company started this tradition and other funders now support this important recognition effort.
