The Irish Times.com

So, there I was in bed. Everything was cool. Sophie was being cared for and Linda was at work. I had the morning 100% to myself. So I took out my laptop and decided to catch up on some of the news. I had a cup of tea and was in the mood for some light reading. So I quickly cast my eyes over the front page of the Irish Times online news paper. I liked the Irish Times because of the history it has. It is the best news paper you can read in my opinion if you are going to read one, despite the fact that it is a broad sheet.

So, anyway, I was going to read the online version, which is actually called ireland.com, so I saw an interesting looking link in the business section and I click on it, and what happened? It took me to a subscription page! I had to sign up to read the article. Now were not talking just any subscription page, were talking options here, like there was an annual supscription for €79, monthly for €14, or weekly for €7... but the thing that scared me was that they had a daily one for €2. Yep, instead of buying an actual paper you could hold in your hands, you could buy this €2 one and pay more for it than the paper version!

The whole ordeal was a reminder to me of the way that Ireland is going. Money, money, money! Irish Times indeed, it was far to Irish for me this morning!
