This website is an archive or articles and photos about Retired Sheriff Donald Pezzetti, who served as Sheriff of Gogebic County from 1979-2000, making him the longest serving Sheriff in Gogebic County. He was a Gogebic County deputy, then Undersheriff and then Sheriff. He later served as a Gogebic County Commissioner and in many different roles over the years on many boards serving Gogebic County. He served his Country in the Army in Korea and was Commander of VFW Post 9084. One of his favorite things to do was singing. He was in the band Don's Trio which became Members Of The Bar and they performed during the 1960s and 1970s and reunited in the 1980s and 1990s. They were offered a recording contract with Motown Records in the 1960s. This is also an archive of some videos during his time as Sheriff and also his singing. (The videos with him singing are from the 1980s through 2018.) He was the former owner of the Pezzetti Old Italian Grill. This site is run by his daughter, Shannon, in memory of her wonderful father, who was respected by everyone. (1938-2021) And for those who met him and knew him, I know that you remember his kindness and sense of humor. Many more of the thousands of articles that were written about him over the years, showing his dedication to serving Gogebic County, will be added in the future showing his contributions to Gogebic County and his dedication to serving the people. There are hundreds (possibly thousands) of great newspaper articles about Donald and his career so I've set up an additional blog to post the newspaper articles because there are so many of them. Check out Donald's great story that was published in Good Old Days magazine! He wrote it about his childhood friend and their fun times fishing when they were kids. It was published in their July/August 2020 issue.
Here are some great photos from Members of the Bar. It was originally called Don's Trio and in 1965 they must have been called The Polkateers. (I never knew that!) Members included: Don Pezzetti, Ringo (Don) Prosek, John Oberto, Gary Lucas, David Lucas. Finally found three photos with the Members of the Bar logo on the drums. :-)
