With white ch 12

Row 1= dc in 4th ch (counts as 1st dc ), dc in next 9 dc, ch 3, turn. 10 dcs

Row 2=10 dc across row. Change to red in last two loops of last dc. Ch 3, turn.
              Do not cut off wh or red, carry along side- will be covered by blue shell edging.

Rows 3 & 4= 10 red dc across. Change to white at end of 4th row.

Rows 5 & 6= 10 white dc across. Change to red at end of sixth row.

Rows 7 & 8= 10 red dc across. Change to white at end of 8th row.

Rows 9 & 10= 10 white dc across. Chang to red at end of 10th row.

CROSS BAR SECTION

Row 11= with red * ch 9  , dc in 4th ch ( counts as 1st dc), dc in next 6 chains ( 7 sts added),
                 10 red dc across, 2 sl sts down side of last dc, repeat from *. 24 dcs.
                  connect with a slip st, turn, sl st back to end of row. ch 3, turn.

Rows 12,13,14=( ch 3 counts as 1st dc), 24 dc across.

Row 15= ch 1, turn, sl st loosely across 7 sts, pickup white, 10 dc across. ch 3, turn.

Row 16= 10 wh. dc across. change to red.

Rows 17,18= 10 red dc across. change to white.

Rows 19,20= 10 white dc across. finish off white and red.

SHELL EDGING

Attach blue in top of left corner, ch 3, 4dc,( a 5 dc shell) in corner, skip 1 or 2 sts,
sc, * shell, skip 1 or 2 sts, sc in next st, * repeat around. Weave in loose tails.
Lightly spray starch or methoud of your choice.
