Knights of Justice
The Knights of Justice are Seattle's premier superhero group. Founded in 1917 by Superheroes returning from WWI, the Knights have been a prominent feature of Seattle ever since.

Located in the Smith Tower, the Knights fight crime, provide security for high level politicians and diplomats while they are in Seattle, and maintain order as an adjunct to the police. Having full regional authority and limited Federal authority, the Knights are a shining example of what Mutants and non-Mutants can do together. The Knights also fund the Evergreen Academy. The Evergreen Academy is a school for Mutants (and in some cases their non-Mutant siblings) to learn about themselves while getting an academic education. Run by Father McGirl, the Evergreen Academy is known for the quality of its graduates both as members of society and as functioning Mutants in control of their powers.

Following the death of Professor Charles Xavier, the Knights offered several members of the X-Men an opportunity to 'come out of the shadows' and be counted as an accepted member of society with a useful and much needed mission.

Dr McCoy accepted the invitation as did Kurt Wagner and others to become members of the Knights and Faculty of Evergreen Academy.
