Saturday, February 10th

So, today it was planned to be a pretty quiet day, doing a couple of stuff around town, maybe put 15-20 miles on Roxana.. something pretty easygoing, but it turned out completely different.
This week I noticeded that when the bike was warmed up the rpm gauge would go up-down-up-down-up-down-up-down-up-down-up-down when idling.. something really nausea inducing...  I called my mech and said to bring her to him, probably some problem with the carb. So, at 10:30 am there I am, we speak, check the chain, lube it, check tire pressure, later we'll check the carb...  11:30 am the owner of the shop, a friend of mine, shows up and said "Alejandro! glad you are here! we are heading to Azua (find it on the
map) with a group of friends, everybody on his bike! We are leaving in 30 mins, wanna come along?!"...  My eyes get bigger, a smile appears on my face... Sure!
And so we leave, meet the other guys and head out of the city...
The group? Hayabusa, GSX-R 750, VFR 800, R6 and my F4... as you can see I had the quietes bike...
The leader was on the Haya, along the whole trip we used several times to slow down, go behind the last rider just to check if everything was ok, and then take again the first place. He's also the owner of the shop.
The ride was pretty smooth, our destination was 60 miles away, a little more than yesterday's trip, but a lot faster!
I also managed to reach my new speed record, 120 mph... brrrch! now, that's flying low...  I have a private pilot license, I used to fly on little Cessna 150, 152, 172.. and I never reached that speed! Anyway, that was only for a short period of time, usually we rode between 75 and 90.
Once arrived we drink (Coca cola, no alchool!) and eat (my meal, rice with shrimps!), talk about this ans that and head back as it was alredy 4:30 pm by this time...
Hummm, last news report heavy rain showers at the capital, our destination... nah, don't worry, it will be all over by the time we go there... yeah, right...
and so, after 20 miles we got wet...
We were moving eastbound now, the clouds were westbound....
Ahhh! I *hate* rain! This week or the next one I'll have to change my rear tire, so I'm not really all that happy with wet surfaces...
Besides that not big problems at all, by the time we arrived everybody was dry again. Refill the tanks (I got a good 35 mpg, which seems pretty good since we were pushing almost all the time), everybody's reserve light was on now, and take the way home... what a wonderful trip!
My 2nd Trip. First time riding in a group.
