Commodities included hard disc drives, OEM PCBA's, power supplies and board level electronic components. Negotiated blanket purchase order and LOI agreements for critical commodities and long-lead components. Additionally responsible for procurement in support of new products introduction (NPI) involving management of contract manufacturer's, consignment of material in support of prototype assembly. Also handled the placement of MRO requisitions and sales of excess and obsolete inventory.

07/99 - 08/00 : Senior Buyer, Therma-Wave Inc., Fremont, CA.
Purchasing responsibilities include OEM high-dollar items such as stages, indexers, mini-environments, controllers and robots, OEM capital equipment, clean-room & electro-mechanical assemblies. Optics, including lenses, mirrors, paraboloids and lasers. Maintained a kanban system with several key suppliers.

04/99 - 07/99 : Web Surfer, Portera Systems, Campbell, CA. (Contract)
Working for an internet portal start-up company researching various topics associated with ERP systems, ERP providers (SAP,Oracle,Peoplesoft) �In addition to internet related material and general computer information. Reviewed and ammended articles of text including newsreports, white papers for relevance and inclusion to the database.

06/98 - 04/99: Senior Buyer, Taxan USA Corporation, Milpitas, CA.
Lead buyer for a turnkey manufacturer involved with PCB assembly for prototype and production orders. �Responsible for all purchasing functions within the organization, including approval of all purchase requisitions and change orders. �Recommended cost savings through blanket orders, extended lead- time coverage and LOI agreements with preferred vendors. �Maintained database integrity with manufacturers part numbers. �Offered alternate manufacturers for long lead-time items or hard to find, obsolete components. �Used e-commerce to assist with purchasing requirements, including locating components, placing orders and obtaining specifications.

02/98 - 06/98: NPI Buyer, EFI Inc., San Mateo, CA. (Contract)
Purchasing support for the prototype and pre-production engineering requirements. �Involved placing purchase orders, identifying second source of long lead-time and obsolete component requirements. �Supported contract manufacturers with component requirements, bills of materials, drawings etc. �Manage build schedules through prioritization of OEM requirements and demand. �Support internal customer requirements, working closely with engineering and program management. �Assisting accounting and receiving with invoice discrepancies and delivery tracking.

Directly responsible for maintaining floorstock inventory in a cleanroom environment, whilst controlling an active MRP consisting of spot buys, contract and bus route components, ensuring component availability and scheduled deliveries, using JIT concepts. �Support internal customers with component and hardware needs. �Worked closely with finance and accounting in cost reduction, accounts payable issues and invoicing. �Provide strategic support to numerous teams within the organization, including design engineers, supplier quality engineering, receiving and manufacturing.

07/96 - 04/97: NPI Support Buyer, Silicon Graphics, Mtn.View, CA. (Contract)
Supported a team of four buyers in the high-end production new products division. �Responsibilities included procurement of consigned material for prototype builds through to production based on JIT principles. �Parts ranging from sheetmetal and cable assemblies, through to board level components. �Assisted sub-contractors in locating hard to find and long lead-time components, worked with engineering in cross referencing and second sourcing parts. �Additionally responsible for accounting referrals, discrepancies and overdue shipments ensuring MRP accuracy.

01/95 - 07/96: Jr. Buyer/Expeditor, Sanmina Corporation, San Jose, CA.
Supported a team of buyers with the procurement of components for assemblies, ensuring ontime delivery to meet quick turn and production schedules. �Responsible for the status of open work orders, ECO & RMA experience. �Maintained discrepancy and MRB areas, ensuring timely removal of parts.
