Yeah, I agree, another stupid, bone-headed Nintendo decision.
I've never had to buy controller extension cables for any of my consoles ever. However, when I play my GCN I have to lean forward on my sofa...I got sick of doing that an bought an extension for my controller months ago.
I know I could by a Wavebird, I just haven't.

i really dont see the necessity in wireless controllers. yea it's a nice feature, but what are you going to be doing while playing games to absolutely need a wireless controlleR? if you need extra length you can buy a 4 dollar extension chord... much cheaper than a $40 controller.  but yes i do love my wavebird. but i do use wired controllers about the same as i use the wavebird

maybe it has to do with Japan. Their living quarters are typically smaller and Nintendo being Nintendo, they just standardize eveything for all markets based on the Japanse market.

Ya Nintendo likes to do things like this. I'm positivite they had the design for GBA SP when GBA was released, but they wanted to make lots of extra money so they held on to it.

I don't know...
But yes, the GCN controller cord length blows, especially since I'm used to the 9-footer on my Xbox.
I'm forced to sit on the floor in front of my tv when I play my Cube, instead of back on my couch or loveseat.
I must admit though, while I've never liked the Cube controller, it works quite well for RE4.
