| WOW! We had a really great May show and hope everyone had an enjoyable day! We want to thank Daisy Jackson and Karen Hawkins for a wonderful job judging. We want to remind everyone that we have one more show on June 20th before our July and August break. Our next judge will be Lee Tagtmyer Hunter and we hope all can attend. General Meeting Scheduled Our next General Meeting of 2004 will be held on June 15 at El Charro's Restaurant on Garrison Street in Carthage, MO. Meeting time is 7:00 PM. Again, you will receive one Block Time credit for every meeting that you attend. We welcome your ideas so please pan to join us. Points and Block Time Totals Block Time totals and Point totals will be available at the show office following the halter classes. For Sale Page We are adding a second page to our newsletters for anyone wishing to advertise items, horses, services, etc. for sale. A business card size ad will be available $5.00 and will run in the monthly newsletter until we are notified to discontinue it. This will be offered after the close of our Directory. Please contact Sandi at the email address above or the information below to place your ad. REMINDERS BLOCK TIMES Sign up for Block Time will be on a show-to-show, first come basis. The schedule will be available at the show office at 7:30 am for the current show only. We have members who want to work and have not been able to schedule a block because many were filled in advance for future shows. We should have plenty of blocks available for workers and we have also added 3 more positions per block that will need to be filled. Also, as our show season moves along many will be completing this requirement so we will still need workers for our laters shows. Please check the details of the Block Time requirements in this newsletter. This should give everyone the opportunity to fulfill their block requirement. STALLS AND SHAVINGS Effective at the May show, please sign in at the show office upon arrival to receive your shavings, stalls and/or tie outs. We will start a tab for you at that time and give you a receipt to present to Tim or Ron. You will need this receipt in order to get your shavings. If you plan on arriving the night before, Tim or Ron will be available for sign in. Please check in with us the following morning to make sure we have your correct information. We apologize for any inconvenience and hope this allows us to better organize our show. ANNOUNCERS We are always in need of announcers, so if interested please check at the show office early. SIGN-UP Please sign up as soon as possible for the halter classes. We will be starting at 9:00 am sharp and in order to coordinate with the announcer's box we will be announcing a cut off time for these classes. SHOW RULE REMINDERS General Rules: Numbers must be worn on the back and must be clearly visible at all times when in competition. Exhibitors without numbers will be disqualified. Appointments: No martingale or tie-down allowed in a judged class. Equipment should be suitable for type or horse. Exhibitors with training aids will be disqualified. Rule #12: Neat attire requested. Long sleeve shirts and boots are required. Rule #13: To qualify for Year-End Awards you must be a 4-State member. Points are accrued only from the date joined. Year-End Awards are based on ONE HORSE/ONE RIDER. Halter points follow the horse. The Leadline class is judged on the horse and rider (not the handler). You must show in atleast 4 of the 6 4-State shows offered and show in the same classes. This excludes weanlings in classes 3 and 4. The double-judged shows count for 2 shows. Each exhibitor will be responsible for working 5 blocks of time to quaify for Year-End Awards. For further details, please refer to Rule #13. Show Rules will be strictly enforced and are further outlined in the 4-State Show Rules on the back of the 4-State Showbill and the 4-State Arabian Horse Show Association Show Rules.
