Tales
Yes, we're finally getting a move-on on a lot of projects we had planned.
Music:
MIDI:
- A Tricky Duality: One of DM's biggest undertakings to date. Set pitchbends to +/-12 (full ocave). Written by Edvard Grieg, arrangement by M. P. (Dom`ny/Azrael/Jophiel) copyright 2002, all rights reserved.
Fanfiction:
Stories:
- The Damnation Cycle: (LoM/SF) Sariel V, a protege of the famous Rouge, becomes embroiled in a massive catastrophe affecting both Fa'Diel and the Frontier.
- A Gem in Black: (LoM) Still in preproduction *groan*
Poems:
- The Beautiful Battlefield: (LoM) Related to The Damnation Cycle, these were the last words of a Jumi philospher to his people before he disappeared.
Humor:
- Popo!: (LoM) You may remember this medicinal bug from The Flame of Hope. Imagine if a major corporation got ahold of them and tried to mass market them.
This parody owes some thanks to Buckley's Elixer, the only cough syrup that markets itself on its horrible flavor.
Fanart
From Dom`ny Mortis &/or Sariel V: We tend to scan things to large sizes, and our apologies for that. We don't really do requests or commissions, but sometimes an outside idea will catch Sar's fancy.
- Alexandra (LoM): The current crop can be found on the A Gem in Black page. Some of these may not meet your expectations of Sandra...
- Asellus (SF): Half-Mystic Vampiric Demon Princess Asellus (can we squeeze that much in here?).
- Asellus 1: A card design for Private Use, limited print run of 1. While Sariel was trying to make her look sinister, the overall effect seems to be glum disinterest. Still, it has its Charm.
- Asellus 2: The same drawing above just past the inking stage.
- Elysia (LoM): Everyone's favorite succubus from LoM.
- Elysia 1: Drawn on a challenge from Mana Crow, who's brought this character to life over at GameFAQs. See if you can figure out what her nightshirt REALLY says.
- Elysia 2: The same drawing as above at an earlier stage. Sariel wanted something to come back to in case the pencil
coloring turned out poorly. Fortunately that wasn't necessessary.
- Pearl (LoM): We actually made up a card design (something we enjoy doing) with her on the front for Valentine's Day. Sadly, only one person asked for one when they were offered; the remainder have been scrapped. This might be linked in the future, and it can currently be found elsewhere...
- Pearl 1: This was just a quick sketch with minimal effort, as can be seen from the lack of cleanup done.
- Amity (LoM/Original): Sariel created several Jumi to use in stories; Amity has so far been his favorite, and she's been drawn quite a bit, usually on whatever paper is handy at the time ;)
- Amity 1: One of the the most recent and cutest attempts thus far.
- Amity 2: Amity hates drawing attention to herself, so she usually dresses in plain robes. She holds holidays differently though, hence the caption.
- Amity 3: Precoloring of the previous.
- Amity 4:
This one has been sitting around for a while, and I've finally learned
how to color with Photoshop in a way that I don't have to do it pixel
by pixel. The mauve hair really makes the magenta eyes look red.
- Sariel V (SF/Original): The artist's namesake. Actually, the character had been around for quite some time before he took it as his alias.
- Sariel 1: And quite an accomplishment this one is, too, for just a profile.
- Sariel 2: An overhead shot of SV holding his flamberge, done on whatever paper was handy at the time. He doesn't wear a cape, but the picture needed some balance. ;)
- Jeseira (LoM/Original): Jes Lillyguilder (I love that name) is a young woman that discovered she is actually a reincarnated Angel of Undine. Her awakening to her true nature has left her somewhat confused as to what path she should take, since the Goddess is a proponent of free will and represents both good and evil.
- Jeseira 1: A pen sketch from the preliminary design. Just her face. She looks apprehensive, don't you think?
