MISSION AND DESCRIPTION OF THE INTELLIGENCE DIVISION:

The Intelligence Division was created in 2001 with the foundation of the Domestic Bureau of Anger. The Bureau also designated a Senior Special Agent in Charge (SSAC) to serve as head of the DBA intelligence community; act as the principal adviser to the Director for intelligence matters related to the ongoing mission of the Bureau; and serve as head of the Intelligence Division. Since that time, the Intelligence Division has grown into one of the most important divisions in many field offices.

Jason Ferguson became Senior Special Agent in Charge of the Intelligence Division on April 21, 2001. He still serves at this post today, out of Field Office 714, in Hampton Roads Va, and Field Office 757 in western part of that state.

The Senior Special Agent in Charge serves as the head of the Intelligence Division and reports to the Director of Domestic Bureau of Anger. The Senior Special Agent in Charge of Intelligence duties include:

* Collecting intelligence through human sources and by other appropriate means, except that he shall have no police, subpoena, or law enforcement powers or internal security functions within the Bureau of at large;

* Correlating and evaluating intelligence related to the ongoing missions of the DBA and providing appropriate dissemination of such intelligence;

* Providing overall direction for and coordination of the collection of national intelligence within the jurisdiction of the field office through human sources by elements of the Intelligence Community authorized to undertake such collection and, in coordination with other divisions or elements of the Domestic Bureau of Anger which are authorized to undertake such collection, ensuring that the most effective use is made of resources and that appropriate account is taken of the risks to the agents of the DBA at large and those involved in such collection; and

Performing such other functions and duties related to intelligence affecting the ongoing mission of the DBA as the Director of the DBA may so request.

The function of the Intelligence Division is to assist the Director of the Domestic Bureau of Anger in carrying out the responsibilities outlined above.

To accomplish its mission, the Intelligence Division engages in research, development, and deployment of high-leverage technology for intelligence purposes. As a separate division, Intelligence serves as an independent source of analysis on topics of concern and also works closely with the other organizations in the Intelligence Community to ensure that the intelligence consumer receives the best intelligence possible.

As changing polical realities have reordered the Bureau's agenda, Intelligence has met these challenges by:

Creating special, multidisciplinary centers to address such high-priority issues such as nonproliferation, counterterrorism, counterintelligence, international organized crime and narcotics trafficking, environment, and arms control intelligence.

Forging stronger partnerships between the several intelligence collection disciplines and all-source analysis.

Taking an active part in Intelligence Community analytical efforts and producing all-source analysis on the full range of topics that affect the ongoing missions of the DBA.

Contributing to the effectiveness of the overall Intelligence Community by managing services of common concern in imagery analysis and open-source collection and participating in partnerships with other intelligence agencies in the areas of research and development and technical collection.

By emphasizing adaptability in its approach to intelligence collection, the Intelligence can tailor its support to key intelligence consumers and help them meet their needs as they face the issues of the post-Clinton World.

The Special Agent in Charge (SAC)of the Intelligence Division in Field Office 759 is Jeremy Van Cleave, (2005 Airman of the Year, Staff Sergeant, US Army). Either the SSAC or the SAC assists the Director in his duties as head of the DBA and exercises the powers of the Director when the Director’s position is vacant or in the Director’s absence or disability.

The Special Agents under the leadership of SSAC Ferguson and SAC Van Cleave is currently under cover and cannot be named at the present time.
