To those of you out there looking for a safe high, I have just the thing. Go to your favorite program for downloading music, and retrieve your very own copy of the Wicked witch of the west theme (or buy it if you feel so inclined, but you'll keel over when you see the price). burn this song onto a CD, pop it into a portable player, and go out for a bike ride. Even the most manly of men can't help but cackle while winding down a road.

Yeah, that was me today. Then suddenly, Musical re-enactment turned into a scene from Paperboy when some old lady's weiner dog ran out from NOWHERE to attack me... Now, I'm a hardcore cyclist, and I would normally be able to outrun some peasant dog, but this was towards the end of my ride and I was going up a steep hill, so I was tired. Not to mention the fact that I ride by this area everyday, and I never saw any indication that dogs were about. I was taken by surprise. The brute followed me for most of the way home, and I had to do some fancy steering to avoid the 3 and a half foot long monster. At some point, little oscar-meyer got tired of chasing me and I don't know what became of him... I made it home in one piece. well, I suppose two pieces since I was on a bike.

Work today was excellent. After only two days, I can nearly handle the front end completely by myself, which says a lot since it's a pretty various job, but it's also a fast paced one, so you really have no choice but to learn quickly. I worked from 9-5 today, and was even begging to stay an extra hour by the end of my shift. Before this job, I was always a shy person. Hell, it took me three months to talk to people down at Lowes, and in school I was always the quiet kid in the corner, but I opened up to the people here so quickly that I'm wondering if it's them, or I'm just growing up. 1
