This is a Shakespearean sonnet I composed a while back. The theme is love.
First sight was merely shadow, dark yet bright;
So golden you were that I thought surely,
A plain and profound girl does not shed light
On those whose feet skim o'er ground leisurely
But shallow hearts do deepen, with a jolt
Of one's small world of med'ia and plastic.
There could lie love bound, ready for revolt
Against old habits and a distance thick
We overcame those walls of prejudice
And know that love is truly blind, no less.
When blinded, love's scent does not go amiss
Like roses placed before the visionless.
Eternal is our love and fav'rite word.
No hurt nor love may change the love occurred.
