Restored
The daily wearing-down
By books, papers, slides, and stairs
By mid-week reaches tiring levels
And threatens the sanity, the tolerance,
The health of our young residents
Steadily sinking lower and lower

Stale, dull feelings
That mush into a brownish blur
A mess we feel we need to escape
But that sucks us down ever more swiftly

Then, a break
A rejuvenation
Tasty edibles and uninterrupted sleep
Unbroken ATPs flowing in
Recharging the battery of life
Real, unforced energy
We bounce back, relit
Restored at last
