| The Ham Killer Britton Durbin |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The ham hit the bottom of the cart and she smiled sweetly towards me. I picked up my ham and walked toward the check-out counter wondering why this random lady had taken my ham and put it in her cart and htem smile at me like it was ok. But then I realized that she was "mentally challenged" because she had a puddle of drool at her feet and a lazy eye. Well, I took my ham home and had it for dinner, but later, as I was watching t.v. I saw her staring through the window at me, grimacing in a way that give anyone chills. Then, the sky flashed with lightening and she was gone. I was getting frightened and behan wondering why taking back my ham has upset her so much. Seeing no reason to worry myself any longer, I went to bed. Lying there that night, as I listened to the rain sheet down upon the roof, I looked out the window hoping to get some sleep. All of a sudeen the wind began howling, lightnening struck the ground all around my house and as I looked out the window, I saw the outline of a woman cast against the wall hunched over, knife raised high. I whipped my head around just in time to feel the knife go deep into my side, and the last thing I saw was a woman smiling sweetly towards me, pick up her ham and leave. |
