For My Daughter

Smiles Medley Disabled

We Have A Baby! Kelli went into labor this morning and left for the hospital at 6:30! At 10:58 a.m. Damien was born! (Saturday, May 15, 2004)

This page is for my daughter and her first, newborn son. She is about to embark on a very new and life-changing experience. There will be many "firsts" for her and baby:

  • The first delivery of a miracle of life
  • first smile
  • first laugh
  • first word
  • first step
  • first birthday
  • first day of school

My daughter will know what it's like to have a tiny baby look up at her with trust and security, with wonder and love. She will know what it means to be a mother, a teacher and that this wonderful job is filled with laughter, tears, hopes, dreams, hard work and rewards that make it all worthwhile. My daughter will know the true meaning of sacrifice. She will know what it means to love unconditionally.
Yes, her whole world as she now knows it will change overnight. A tiny life will cling to her and she will feel its love, its warmth, its softness. She will be a mother.

There is no greater responsibility, no greater honor, than motherhood.
