Shibas are our hobby and our passion. We occasionally offer Shiba puppies for pet or show and now and then we have adult Shibas available for placement. Our goal, for each litter we breed, is that it be better than the last. I saw my first Shiba in 1993, shortly after they attained AKC status. It was love at first sight! In January of 1994 Mineko's Where's the Fire, known as "Shandy", came to live with us. Ch Hansha's Ichi Bon, or just "Ichi" joined her in February (without the "Ch." prefix) Within a year, we added the "Ch." and I was well and truly "hooked" All the dogs we breed have the appropriate health checks and certifications. We are very careful about dentition and temperament. Socialization is a big thing here. We are producing happy, healthy, typey puppies. Our kennel was founded on the Mineko and Hansha bloodlines. Janet Schurle and June Gilmore were our mentors and are still good friends. Their help has been invaluable.
Our puppies are lovingly nurtured in a family environment. All puppies are sold on a contract and with a health guarantee. Prospective buyers are carefully screened so that we can determine if we believe a shiba will fit into their home. All puppies are evaluated so that we can better match the puppy with it's new family. We find keeping shibas a joyous experience and sincerely hope to share some of that joy with you.
