Nuestra Cabana: Service Project
All of the girls and kids sing a grace taught to us by the kids.
'Damos gracias al Senor, damos graaaacias, damos gracias al senor (clapclapclap). En el manana cuando canta la gallina, canto al Senor..."
Everyone is enjoying lunch together before free play. Many of the younger kids, worn out from the morning's activities, are napping.
Vicki and Salli greet the herd of kids while the Scouts listen (off to the left)
Leading the first (and youngest) group of kids to our station. That's me in the front, and Danielle behind me in the bright blue.
The kids enjoying our service project-- Spanish-English books (with many empty pages) that have a pencil pouch with colored pencils and regular pencils on the front.
My troop and I teach the kids a game, Abigail and I speaking to them in Spanish. My troop is wearing bright blue shirts.
We play the "bringing the rain game", myself in the circle. The rain was late in Oregon and in Cuernavaca as well. That night, it started pouring! And it rained heavily every night afterwards.
One of the groups of kids poses with us for a picture.
Luis, the youngest of the kids who came, is tired after the service projects and naps through lunch. Luis loved to play with beach balls, tennis balls, and any other kind of balls.
Luis dominates the tennis court with a tennis racket as high as his shoulders.
Randy plays with Luis, who has found himself a beach ball.
