As I sit here and reminisce about the adventures in my life

Friends would come in and out of my life

As the saying goes we must risk all in order to find

At times I failed and my spirit would push me to try again

We choose our way in life with no rhyme or reason

Dreaming as a little girl if I would make someone a good wife
Trying to decide with every step and which path to follow
Not knowing if it would leave my heart sad, empty and hollow.
Some left scars that hurt like the cut from a knife.
From the ones I loved there were many lessons to be learned
And yet with the next I left no tables unturned.
That one factor in life that will bring comfort to mind.
Unconditional acceptance and love is the search most of us seek
Trying to be strong and never showing we are weak.
A silent voice inside reminding me of another adventure around the next bend
I recall the tears of joy and tears of pain with each new step
Knowing in my heart the lessons I would not forget.
With emotions dancing and changing with the season
My final words of wisdom to myself today
Let love in, be kind to others and live life day to day
